Who we are
We are Pakshi Technologies, an AI consultancy and services firm in Chennai, India. We help businesses across India use AI to get everyday work done. Questions about this policy go to hello@pakshitechnologies.com.
This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.
We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. In the rest of this page we call it "the Act".
What we collect on this site
This site collects only what you choose to give it. The contact form asks for:
- your name
- your company name
- a few words on what your business does
- your team size
- the task you want help with
- a rough budget band
- your email address or phone number, so we can reply
If you sign up for our monthly note in the footer, we collect one more thing: your email address. Nothing else is asked for, and we collect nothing in the background while you read.
Like almost every website, our server keeps a short technical log of each visit: your IP address (the number that identifies your internet connection), the page you asked for, and the time. We keep these logs for a short period and use them only for security, to spot attacks and fix faults. When you send the form or sign up for the note, we also keep a scrambled version of your IP address, so that one connection cannot flood the form. It cannot be turned back into the address.
Why we collect it
One reason: to reply to you. You tell us about a task that eats your week, and we get back to you with a plain answer. That is the whole purpose.
We do not build marketing lists or sell or rent your information. If you subscribe to our monthly note, we use your email address only to send it, and you can stop at any time. If we ever want to contact you about something other than your enquiry or the note, we will ask first.
Monthly note (newsletter)
The footer of every page has a box where you can ask for our monthly note. It is one plain email a month on getting real work done with AI in an Indian business. Nothing else is sent to that address.
What we collect: your email address, and the scrambled version of your connection number described above.
Where it is kept: in India, on servers we control, alongside the contact form entries.
How long: until you tell us to stop. Then we delete the address.
How to stop: every note says how to stop. You can also email hello@pakshitechnologies.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line, and we will remove your address within a few days.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies (small files saved in your browser so advertisers can follow you from site to site), visitor-counting tools that identify you, or trackers placed by social networks. If we ever need to count visits, we will do it in a way that cannot tell who you are.
Where your information is stored, and for how long
Contact form entries and monthly note sign-ups are stored in India, on servers we control.
We keep each contact form entry for up to 24 months from the day you send it, so that if you come back next year we still have what you asked. If you would like it deleted sooner, email us and we will delete it. A monthly note address is kept until you ask us to stop. Server logs are kept for a short period and then removed.
Who we share it with
Nobody, with two exceptions.
First, when you submit the form, a copy is emailed to us, and the monthly note goes out by email. The service provider that delivers those emails handles them on our behalf, like a courier carrying a letter, and may not use them for anything else.
Second, if a court or a government authority in India lawfully requires us to hand over information, we will comply with the law.
We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers or any other business.
Your rights
Under the Act you have the right to:
- Access: ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Withdraw consent: change your mind at any time. Once you withdraw, we stop using your information and delete it, apart from anything we must keep by law.
- Grievance: raise a complaint about how we have handled your information and get a proper answer.
To use any of these rights, email hello@pakshitechnologies.com and tell us the name and company you gave on the form, or the address you used for the monthly note, so we can find your entry. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, the Act also gives you the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Client data during projects
During a project we usually handle your business data: orders, invoices, customer lists, documents. That data is not covered by this policy. It is covered by the written agreement we sign before the project starts, which sets out what we may access, where it is stored, who can see it, and what happens to it when the work ends. Children
This website and our services are meant for businesses and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the rules under the Act change. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will email you before it takes effect.
